Hello Final 8!!!
Welcome to your Sixth Judging Session. Let's see how you girls did this week
Nicki: Freida, I really love this. I think that a strong mother-childrelationship is extremely valuable, and you really channel that here. Great job!
Matt: yes! i'm gonna have to agree with Nicki, this is very strong and powerful and i love how you didnt do the norm and pick a male.
Karen: I like that you went outside the traditional love relationship. It's a very cute photo, and definitely shows a lot of vulnerability. My only real complaint is that there isn't a lot of diversity with the color, but beyond that it's fantastic.
Amanda: I agree with Karen that it's really plain. However, your face is strong and the story is great, and I really like it otherwise. It's unique in that you're with your MOM and not a male suitor, so you get points for that too. Great work!
BB: I felt the bond between you and your mother. This is very unique and I'm touched by this photo. But I think you can work more on face expression
Nicki: Gemma, once again I think you did a great job. You translate both your emotion and your connection with the boy well. Great job!
BB: I'm not sure about your photo this week Gemma. I don't feel the energy. Beside that you mentioned about the powerful story of love. I think you and your partner are not happy together. It looks like both of you were forced to love each other. I've seen you did way better than this before
Matt: I'm not really a fan. Your pose and face is kind of awkward as is the male's but i;m sure you'll be fine
Karen: It's definitely an interesting shot, and I like the retro, vintage feel that you have going on here. I like the sad aspect of it, and the whole thing comes together quite nicely. The facial expressions are a bit awkward, but other than that it's well done.
Amanda: I love that you're at Stonehenge. That's a unique setting, but it almost looks like you're attending a funeral. I kind of feel an emotional connection to it for some weird reason, but that's because of the awkward sadness that this photo conveys. I want to love it, but in the end it's just good but not great. I hope you don't have problems making it through!
Nicki: JLaw, I think this is great. I totally get the friend vibe from this picture, and I like the case you presented with it. Makes for a strong round... great job!
Matt: Your face and you are very perfect and i like it... but the male is kind of just there and his face is kind of awkward as well but this is about you not him and you did a good job!
Karen: This is definitely an interesting take on the couple thing, and I like what you've done with it. Photowise, I'm not a fan of how the grass obscures some of the picture, but I love the pose and the outfit. Great work!
Amanda: I am kind of iffy on the pose, but it might just be the dress being overbearing like Karen said. I get the vibe that this is the guy you grew up with and just want to be friends with him. I also like your face and the setting is great. All-around, good work!
Nicki: Maria, while I like the use of props and setting, I really think you lose a lot of potential in this picture because there's no interaction between you and your friend. Sorry
Matt: I'm not soo sure of this. I was really rooting for you but this photo is very odd. I'm going to say it's strong and i like that but then i'm a bit worried for you.
Karen: While I do get the friendship vibe here, it's not a terribly modelesque picture, to me. The poses are interesting, but there's not a lot to go on, because it's small, and your headgear really detracts from you, I think.
Amanda: I am not too sure about it, either. I know that this theme presents a problem for you, so that might make up a little bit. I see this as more of work than model - the setting doesn't really give me the vibe that you're even a model here. This looks like a promo shot for some bike customizing show on the Travel Channel, not something fashionable. I'm worried for you this week, but hope you can make it!
BB: This is definitely a tough week for you. But I think you did best as you could. I think the using of props and setting might help you a lot. Good luck
Nicki: Mischa, I really like this because I can see the simple and innocent connection between you two. I just wish you connected with the camera more.
Matt: This sort of reminds me of a candid shot, but i still think it shows some romance which is sweet and innocent.
Karen: I definitely like the playful aspect of the photo, but I wish we could see a bit more of you, since you're kind of only half there. But it's very cute, and I love the lighting, and your outfit and hair are fantastic as well. Good job!
Amanda: The focus here is not really on you... I really don't see any focus here at all. This shot is kind of a mess, but I love how it's playful and the interactions are pretty good. I just wish this was more... focused. It's good, but not really "great" or anything.
BB: I genuinely think this is your best photo since Week #2.. I love the connection. Both of you look happy together. I love the setting. Good luck, Mischa
Nicki: Rihanna, I'm not sure what to make of this. I think your emotion is strong, but I'm just not a fan of your look.
BB: I can relate to this photo. I felt the emotion in this photo. I like your styling. My only concern is your eyes because I think this photo will be much stronger if we can see your eyes
Matt: I said this to one model and i'm going to say it again. You look amazing but the man is just awkwardly there but then again this is about you and you rocked the you part but as a couple not so much.
Karen: It's pretty interesting. I like your facial expression a lot, but I'm not a fan of that thing on your head, and I agree that the dude is just kind of... there... without contributing anything to the picture. Nice work
Amanda: That's a hairnet. Did this guy just take off your wig? He almost looks like a creeper that's taking you hostage. His sunglasses are evident of that, and since we can't see his eyes we really can't get much of any other vibe from him. Your emotion is good, but at the same time I can't feel a connection. I feel like you're sad that you got caught or something? No clue. I do like your earrings, but this is just okay at best.
Nicki: Selena, this is just okay to me. You two aren't really interacting, but I think you connect with the camera well. This is just overall okay.
BB: I like this photo. Very colourful, fun and translate the friendship of two girls really well. I love the styling on both of you. But my concern is, Demi stand out more than you here. My eyes just went straight to Demi when I see this photo
Matt: I Love the coloring of this and i love how you can tell that you are two young girls having fun being young
Karen: I think this is a pretty cute shot. The posing strikes me as a little bit awkward, but I think your facial expression and the hair are both really strong, and the outfit is also pretty cute. Great work!
Amanda: I really don't have anything else to add here. It's cute, it's fun, it's colorful, it's candid, but Demi stands out a bit more given her smile... and the angle. I really like this, but it's not the best it could be.
Nicki: Shilpa, I think this is a good photo, but nothing about it wows me, and I know you can do better than that!
Matt: The quality is off and i'm not a fan of your face but i do love how you picked your sister to be the one in your photo. I like it but it's not great.
Karen: This is an interesting picture, and I like the similarities between you two. I'm not a fan of the poor quality, though, and I agree that it's pretty plain, and not overly memorable. Still, it's not terrible, or anything...
Amanda: The quality irks me, and the background is a bit eye-catching. It's an interesting idea and the poses are interesting, but I don't really see myself remembering this too much. It's good, but... nothing more than that. You've done better than this before, so this is kind of worrisome :/
BB: I don't like the background and I agree this is forgettable. The outfit is average but the pose and the contrast between you and your sister work for me. But overall this photo failed to wow me, Shilpa
